Keith Daniel, of Lilburn, Ga., has been named senior vice president, transmission policy for Georgia Transmission Corporation (GTC). Daniel has been with GTC since 1988 and has served in various capacities, most recently as vice president of transmission policy.

In his new role, Daniel will continue to direct transmission policy for the corporation and coordinate with external organizations, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. In addition, he will oversee GTC’s planning functions, tariff and related issues, generation interconnections and system reliability.

“With more than 25 years invested in GTC, Keith has both the knowledge and experience to effectively lead GTC forward in the transmission policy arena,” said Jerry Donovan, president and chief executive officer, Georgia Transmission Corporation. “His background in planning also provides us the opportunity to create synergies with policy that will bring great strategic advantages in the coming years.”

Daniel represents GTC with industry policy and planning groups, including the North American Transmission Forum, the Eastern Interconnection Planning Collaborative and Southeastern Regional Transmission Planning. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Georgia.

Daniel holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master’s of Business Administration from Georgia State University. He and his wife, Pamela, have three sons.
